Bissim was created by Philip Sykes in 1981 and has been continually developed since. It's been run extensively across the world with groups ranging from university undergraduates to directors of multi-nationals. Bissim users have included: Aston, Darden, EASB & LBS business schools. Abbey, Arla, BDO, Britvic, Dixons, RBS, Rolls-Royce, Scottish and Newcastle, Shell, Unilever & Wessex Water.

Today the development of Bissim is led by Philip's son, Harvey and Accounting Bissim uses the core of this product. Accounting Bissim has been designed specifically to support accounting and finance courses and is co-developed by Matt Davies (Aston Business School), Darren Sparkes (Warwick Business School) and Lisa Weaver (Warwick Business School).
